WHO WE ARE |
John was born in Canada, raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Europe at age 17. He began work as an engineer with one of Europe's largest energy companies in Switzerland but soon realized his passion lay elsewhere. He studied as an architect and traveled to Holland to begin work as a designer and installer of quality, modern bathrooms. John worked in Holland from 1990 to 2004. John proposed to Hilda in the Dorset Inn in 2004 and was married later that year. Some of his work from Europe can be viewed on the Portfolio section of our Website. John moved to Manchester, Vermont in 2005 with Hilda and opened the doors of Dufour Design in November. John currently feeds an addiction to vintage English cars in his spare time. |  |
Hilda was born in Amsterdam in the Netherlands and was inspired growing up by art, nature, and modern interior design. She worked as a personal assistant to a partner of one of Europe's largest tax law firms for 6 years before moving with John to Manchester, Vermont. Hilda enjoys painting in her spare time and remains committed to both the arts and the bathroom design industry. |  |
Boomer is a 10 year-old male Border Collie. His favorite foods are cookies and sticks. Boomer speaks fluent Dutch and English and he enjoys playing ball with customers in the showroom and sleeping under porcelain tile displays. |  |
